Ways To Help Animals On World Kindness Day

November 1, 2021
World Kindness Day is November 13th. We’ve had a few rough years, and this is a great time to focus on the positives, such as the importance of being kind. There are definitely many small things we can do to help promote kindness when it comes to our animal friends. In this article from Fairfield Animal Hospital, a Cy-Fair, TX vet lists some ways to help animals through kindness. “No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted.” β€” Aesop

Donate

There are many wonderful charities out there doing as much as they can to help animals. Donations are a small but effective way to help them help our animal companions. Every little bit helps!

Volunteer

Another thing you can do is look into volunteering at a local shelter or perhaps a wildlife conservation organization. There’s always work to be done, whether it’s cleaning up beaches or playing with shelter dogs.

Be Mindful

Little things can go a long way when it comes to animals. Turn your yard into a habitat for birds and bees, or switch to non-toxic lawn/garden products.

Shop Mindfully

Awareness of practices like factory farming has been rising steadily over the last few years. For wild animals, pollution, illegal trade, and habitat destruction all pose serious threats. Keep these things in mind when shopping, and try to support companies that use humane practices, ethical animal husbandry, and sustainable resources. Limiting the amount of plastics and disposables you use can also help conserve natural resources.

Spread Awareness

With so many negative things in the news, spreading something uplifting and positive is a wonderful way to make a positive change. Celebrate kindness by helping spread the word about this special day. If you have children, speak to them as well.

Adopt

One of the best ways to show kindness to animals is to adopt one. There are many pets out there who are in desperate need of loving forever homes. Of course, adopting an animal is a huge decision, so it’s something you’d want to think over carefully.

Help Homeless Animals

Fostering is another option. And if you come across a hurt or lost animal, contact an animal rescue organization, so they can help. Please contact us at Fairfield Animal Hospital, your Cy-Fair, TX vet clinic, with any questions or concerns about your beloved pet’s health or care. We’re here to help!
