Summer may be a few months off, but it’s already getting pretty warm out. Heat can be difficult for our furry friends. Pets can’t sweat to cool themselves off the way we can, so they can get into big trouble very quickly if they overheat. Yard Check
Do you have a yard for Fido to chase squirrels in? If so, why not get him a doghouse? Your canine pal would likely also enjoy a kiddie pool or sprinkler. This is also a good time to check for and remove dangerous plants, such as foxtails and Sago palms.Frozen Treats
Many of our furry pals love frozen treats. You can make some for your pet just by putting cooked, boneless meat, fish, or chicken in an ice cube tray, and pouring water or sodium-free broth over it.Grooming

You may want to set out extra water stations. Be sure to clean the bowls and refresh the water at least once a day. Your four-legged friend may also enjoy having a pet fountain to drink from. Dogs and cats often prefer running water. This is likely because in the wild, standing water is more likely to be unsafe and/or fouled than running water. Do you like to take your canine pal on adventures? Make a bag for Fido, and keep it in your car. Add collapsible dishes, a bandana, a cooling vest, treats, waste baggies, and a tie-out line. You may also want to get a portable cooler, which you can fill with water. Plastic gallons of water are okay too, but after time the plastic may leach into the water.
