Things We Would Love to Ask Cats

January 15, 2020
January 22nd is Answer Your Cat’s Questions Day! As you may have noticed, we covered some of Fluffy’s most pressing questions in a previous post. What about ours? If cats had an ‘Answer Your Humans’ Questions Day,’ what would you be most curious about? In this article from Fairfield Animal Hospital, your Cy-Fair, TX animal clinic, we list a few things we would like to ask our feline patients.

Why Are You So Tired?

You’ve probably noticed that our feline friends are very, very sleepy. Theoretically, this may be because kitties spend lots of energy hunting. They also don’t have many ways to cool off if they overheat. But seriously, Fluffy, don’t you think 14-16 hours a day is a little bit excessive?

What’s The Box Obsession All About?

Does your cat immediately jump into any boxes you put down near her? We guess that for most—if not all—of you, the answer to that question is a resounding yes. It doesn’t matter how big or small the box is, or even how big or small the kitty is. (Big cats, like lions and tigers, do this too.) We’d love to know why these little furballs are so infatuated with boxes.

Why Do You Make Clicking Noises?

Cats have many adorable quirks. One of the more purrplexing ones is the way they sometimes start making small clicking noises when they spot a small animal, like a bird or squirrel, outside the window. This may be the sound Fluffy’s transmission makes when she is changing gears from pet to predator, but we’re not really sure.

Why Do You Find Changing Sheets So Amusing?

As noted above, our feline friends are very, very tired. However, even the laziest furball often can’t resist lending a helping paw when it’s time to change the sheets. We have no idea why this so much fun for Fluffy. We just know it’s really cute, if not very helpful.

Why Can’t You Stop Knocking Things Off Tables?

Kitties are known for being both curious and mischievous. Fluffy just can’t seem to resist smacking things off tables or counters. We’d love to know why! That covers our questions, but what about yours? Please reach out to us here at Fairfield Animal Hospital, your Cy-Fair, TX animal clinic, with any questions about your cat’s health or care. We’re here to help!
