Resolutions Inspired By Lazy Cats

January 1, 2023
Happy New Year! Many people are reflecting back on the past year today, and perhaps making resolutions for the coming one. Of course, our feline friends probably slept through last night’s celebrations. Actually, Fluffy will probably sleep through most of 2023. However, she can still be a good source of inspiration for you, even when she’s asleep. In this article from Fairfield Animal Hospital, your Cypress, TX animal clinic, a local vet lists a few resolutions inspired by uninspired kitties.

Sleep More

Sleeping is more than a natural function for kitties. Fluffy may try to improve her 2022 napping record. Or, she may decide to rotate spots more frequently. Another popular kitty goal? Mastering complex napping positions, such as the Pretzel or the Sailors’ Knot.

Stay Flexible

Have you ever noticed your furry buddy snoozing in a strange place or position? We’re guessing that the answer to that is a resounding yes. Fluffy may try to stretch her horizons a bit more this year, and try even more new napping techniques.

Pounce

As your furball ages, she’ll become less interested in wreaking havoc, and more focused on keeping up with her busy napping schedule. However, Fluffy will make at least one attempt to keep up with her fitness regimen. Expect at least two pounces this year.

Cuddle With The Human

Our feline overlords may have a reputation for being cold and aloof, but at the end of the day, they’re actually very affectionate, and can form very strong bonds with their humans. Pay attention to Fluffy  every day!

Appreciate Nature

Some furballs may want to get outdoors this year, and partake in popular kitty activities, like killing birds and squirrels. However, uninspired cats may be purrfectly content to hang out in a window seat and just watch birds and squirrels. Give your furry voyeur a comfy spot with a good view.

Spend More Time With Loved Ones

Settling down on a quiet night with a good book or movie and a purring cat can be very relaxing. Enjoy some quiet time with your feline pal today. After the hustle and bustle of the holidays, getting some R&R with your furry best buddy is a great way to reset! All of us here at Fairfield Animal Hospital, your Cypress, TX animal clinic, wish you a wonderful new year. Please feel free to contact us anytime!
